Father Guy Blair, SCJ The Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic apostolic religious community of both brothers and priests. We live, pray, and work together in North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. We use the initials SCJ after our names. SCJ comes from the Latin phrase Sacerdotum Cordis Jesu (a literal translation would be of the Priests of the Heart of Jesus). In North America, we often refer to ourselves as the SCJs. View Father's profile on the Priests of the Sacred Heart Web Page Here Father's Message St. John the Evangelist Parish has been praying and praising God for 176 years and God still listens to us! If you are searching for a parish experience that has firm roots in our Lord Jesus, you are welcome at our parish. We believe what we pray by living out our faith. Centered on Jesus and his life giving Sacraments, we have been given the blessing and the strength to continue all these years...we plan on at least another 176 years! The opportunities to pray whether at Daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament or seasonal devotions, Bible Study several times a week for both the hearing and the deaf community are translated into action by volunteer opportunities at our Homeless Shelter, Love Life program and St. Vincent De Paul....to name just a few ways we make our faith not only a Creedal statement but a lifestyle. Programs for the deaf community are not designed to 'help them'. We are an inclusive parish that offers the deaf community full membership in the Body of Christ. They pray and work alongside the hearing community as equal members...the hearing community does not 'do for or to' the deaf community....we are all God's Children at the Table of the Lord. There are many activities at our parish...you'll have to come by and worship with us. Once you get the 'flavor' of our parish you'll want to join us!
